Our Favorite Coffee Table Items

Here at the Yond Interiors studio, we've been working to bring some exciting projects across the finish line. With that comes selecting beautiful accessories and objects to complete a space down to the very last detail.

One area we always consider when styling is the coffee table, as it often anchors the main living space. It's a natural gathering point within the home, and we want to style it in a way that feels personal, collected, and maybe even sparks conversation.

Over time we've learned that coffee table styling is truly an art, not a science. There are a million different methods, but today we're showing you how to style a coffee table the Yond Interiors way. Our approach is about sourcing books based on a client's favorite subject, incorporating a candle that has the scent of a loved one, and finding dedicated vessels for every object—TV remote included. As always, design is in the details.

Books

Books are the bread and butter of coffee table styling. Our approach is to select a mix of books—some meaningful to the homeowner and some just for fun—in stacks of two or three for that effortless, collected look.

We love taking our clients’ personal interests into consideration and sourcing titles on photography, travel, art, cuisine, or whichever topics they love most. We could write an entire post on this subject, but we narrowed down our favorites. Here are a few great options that offer both style and substance:

This is Home by Natalie Walton

The book takes you through 16 beautiful homes worldwide, sharing tips for interior styling along the way.

Wonderland by Annie Leibovitz

Whether you’re a fashion enthusiast or not, the iconic work of photographer Annie Leibovitz deserves a spot on every coffee table.

A Good Day to Bake by Benjamin Ebuehi

We believe cookbooks aren’t limited to the kitchen. We love styling with baking, food, and wine books, especially for our foodie clients.

Surf Tribe by Stephan Vanfleteren

You don’t have to live in a coastal region to add this book to your coffee table collection. The beautiful photography is reason enough to flip through on a regular basis.

Body of Art by Dianne Fortenberry & Rebecca Morrill

This title combines art, history, and the human form in a way any art lover can appreciate.

Objects + Accessories

Double Taper Candle Holder

We love using sculptural candle holders like this unlacquered brass option for visual interest in the scene.

Rounded Handled Vase

When we’re styling a large coffee table, we’ll often bring in vases and vessels to hold florals and branches.

Wick Trimmer

Top your box stack with a pretty wick trimmer next to a candle for a layered look.

Blue Onyx Object

Opt for coffee table objects in a variety of sizes, like this marble piece with subtle hints of blue.
